Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Best Toddler Buys for Summer

A quick little post about the purchases or discoveries we have made for our toddlers the last two summers that have really been a hit.  So here's a quick little list of some top summer buys for toddlers in our opinion! From left to right, top to bottom:

Pampers Splashers swim diapers.  They don't swell up!  We have only used these, but I haven't had a reason to try any other brand to be honest!  They slip on easily like underwear, but they do have tabs if you want to remove that way.  We've never had any rashes or problems with these!  You can find them anywhere, we usually get ours at Target.

Native Shoes!  Or as my girls call them, "Water shoes!"  Arlo requests to wear these at least three times everyday.  They are pricier for kids shoes, but they seriously last all summer and we use them so much!  We love to slip these on for running around the back yard or cup-de-sac and they are THE BEST footwear, in my opinion for splash pads and pool days  No skidding, there is plenty of ventilation for water to seep out and dry, AND stylish!  We like the "Jefferson" style.  Locally, we find ours at boutiques or Nordstrom.

Zuru Bunch O Balloons!  Okay so actually WE have not yet purchased these ourselves, but several friends with kids have, and they are a BIG hit with littles!  Who knew?  I don't remember playing with or seeing water balloons until I was old enough to run into the kitchen, strap it onto the tap, fill it and tie it myself!  Toddlers and water balloons is pretty darn cute to watch!  These are SO SIMPLE!  Hook it up to the faucet, turn on the tap and these things fill, and TIE themselves. Voila!

Little Tikes Pirate Ship Water Table!  FUN that LASTS longer than 10 minutes!  Who can appreciate that out there?!  We saw this at Buy Buy Baby back in March/April and went ahead and bought it at the beginning of June and the girls have really played with it for long periods!  I thought this style was more engaging and interesting than some of the others.

Koji Popsicle Molds!  I was searching for these things for awhile at Target, but it wasn't until around the 4th of July I actually found them randomly on a Target run when I wasn't actually searching for them.  They were on an end cap by the dishes.  They had these and really fun Faux Ring Pop ones too!  I went with the classic as my girls are still little and I could foresee major meltage around the hands with the ring pops, even though they would be SO Instagrammy!  Haha!  I have only made one batch so far, but super easy to use, eat with and clean!  As far as being a cost saver, not really, just fun to come up with your own flavors and without added sugars.

Oh Joy! for Target First Aid Kit So CUTE and such a great organizer for the day bag!  I have Band Aids, Neosporin, a tiny tin of Bag Balm, and some random things like hair ties and lollipops in here and it all zips up and is pretty flat.  This goes nicely in my pool bag or large handbag.  It was only $5.99, by the pharmacy at Target.

Flap Happy Hats!  A MUST!  We love the sun hat version with the tie below for Arlo, and both girls wear and like the baseball cap with neck cover too!  I found mine at the thrift store on separate shopping trips, but I am willing to spend the price if they get too small and I can't find them secondhand.  You could also check your local consignment shop.  They also have 50+ UV sun protection in them!  I LOVE the story behind the brand...

Knee Pads???!!  YES!  Knee pads!  So this pair below is not what we have, but similar!  Husband coaches soccer, and a kind parent of one of the girls he coaches had saved a box of goodies for him to pick up for the girls.  In it were some great board books, some great clogs, and other things, and a pair of velcro, cloth knee pads!  They were perfect for Arlo!  I can't tell you how many times she runs down the driveway and falls and scuffs her knees!  And she has been walking for nearly a year now!  SO, we have strapped these on when we head outside to play and she doesn't seem to mind them!  I wish we had thought of these for Remy, although it seems Arlo falls a LOT more.  Wished we had these when she was an early walker!  Look into a pair!  It seems like there are a lot of versions and option out there!
