Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Blizzard Day! Easter Egg Monsters

Blizzard Day! Easter Egg Monsters

We were LITERALLY snowed IN yesterday here in Denver! Fun in ways, and also many ways can I get on my spouse's nerves and he on mine, sort of day.  Grumble, grumble...But after a false start...I think we BOTh woke up a little snarly because Arlo woke at 6 am starving.  He actually went down with her while I snuggled Remy until 8, but we were both sleepy and not the nicest to each other.  Maybe it was the storm...

I however, LOVE, cozy, crazy snow days like we had.  You guys, we had 2 FEET of snow!  It's nearly April!  But, I don't mind it!  Pack in that moisture Colorado!  I had anticipated "some" snow and planned for dying Easter eggs.  I picked up a bag of feathers and googley eyes from the Dollar Store the other day and got the idea to make Easter Egg Monsters!  Well, the girls mainly watched momma drop the eggs in the dye cups, bit we used it as a little opportunity to count (the amount of vinegar tablespoons going in), and name our colors.  Remy helped glue on the eyes and chose the colors.  We made two together, and I had fun and made the Super Hero Girl Egg and the Mustache Muchacho Egg on my own when she went down for a nap.  I think they turned out silly and cute, perfect little table pops for when we host my whole family this Sunday!  YEAH!  I am really excited to have my whole family, mini my daddy, over for a little brunch.

The girls played for the most part, and napped pretty well.  I think their favorite part of the day, over dying Easter eggs, had to be being able to sit in the trunk of momma's new car, to watch momma and baba shovel the driveway, (Disclosure: They were warm inside the car, not on, and the garage door was open, my key was in my pocket.) I took the key out AFTER they somehow managed to turn on the Audio and tune it to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off," their fave. The blinking hazard lights made me nervous so out with the key, and the babies, oh and oh, thanks for breaking my favorite pair of sunnies. Bad idea..

We had a nice warm meal, and momma couldn't keep her lids open.  Snuggled on the sofa just before bath time, I drifted off to a quick cat nap while watching Coneheads!  Circa 1993 Coneheads guys!  I am sorry, bit the fashion, the funny, the actors!  Husband spotted a cameo from Ellen, THE Ellen.  And George Costanza!  Things you don't realize about movies when you are watching them when you are a kid.  It's fun to go back and watch old movies from your childhood!

Are any of you planning to do Easter egg dying this year?  Any fancy or fun ideas brewing?!  I still want to attempt the silk tie eggs one some day...
