Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Cirque du Italia in Colorado

Cirque du Italia in Colorado

We went to the circus Sunday night!

I discovered the Cirque du Italia troupe was passing through and the timing all worked out to go Sunday night.  I have mentioned before that my girls have been asking to go to the circus for a lo=while now.  We actually did go to the Shriner's circus a couple years ago, but they have already forgotten that.

I remember going to the Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Denver Coliseum every fall with my family.  Or, almost every fall it seemed.  We'd have a bug bag of peanuts, IN the shells, cotton candy, sometimes snow cones... Good.  No GREAT, memories.

SO, when I saw the blue and white striped big top in the parking lot at Aurora Mall, I knew we just might have found a solution to our circus conundrum seeing as they do not have the Barnum & Bailey show any longer.

The girls had a great time!  They were EXTREMELY excited when we told them their surprise that mornings, so we decided to dress up!  Arlo said my jacket looked "clownish."  I call it, festive!

Arlo sat on my lap basically the entire time, which was fine by me.  I kept kissing the back of her little head and smelling her baby hair and squeezing her chunky thighs... Three is sweet.  There are plenty of naughty, pesky, tricky, salty moments, days... but she has been SUCH a LOVE BUG lately...

Remy sat on Baba's lap.  I tried to switch towards the end and snuggle up wand talk about the show with her towards the end, but in the last act, they both got SUPER tired and finicky and were very done.  Perfect timing!  Overall, they enjoyed it.  Arlo kept bouncing up and down and clapping her little hands together so hard over the tight rope walkers.

There was also a mermaid act and the girls liked that too!  We actually ran into the mermaid performer backstage outside and we snapped a photo with her.  The girls were looking forward to her the entire first half!   The music was dancey and the costumes were very Italiano! We had red slushies at intermission and managed to skip out on buying any of the light up twirlers.  Although, the butterfly one was so pretty!

I thought it was a FUN family night out together.  Not the circus I remember growing up, but an entertaining performance nonetheless!  Remy was still talking about the dinosaur characters that made an appearance.

If you want to catch it, it looks like they are headed to Littleton this weekend and Colorado Springs the next...Cirque du Italia.

I am wearing a vintage jacket, it was my grandmother's. The girls are wearing thrifted costumes we found at a couple Arcs at various times recently.  But similar here and here.
