Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Denver Snow Drought

Denver Snow Drought

WHERE is our Colorado snow?!  This weather is NOT NORMAL.  The fires in California, praying for containment and relief there... snow in Atlanta?  Scary times my friends.

Scrolling through an Instagram feed filled with everyone's perfect December first snows over the weekend had me very green with envy!  SO, I remembered I had THESE beautiful images of OUR first snow here in Colorado from back in OCTOBER!  I remember very vividly that these girls could NOT let it go that there was snow on the ground.  They were begging me to go out in it ALL morning!  We made it out after breakfast just in time to get the mail.  I am cherishing THESE days that I have to roll out of our jammies into snow suits and play in the snow and say hello to our mail delivery person.  Snow days are the best when you are a stay-at-home-momma, sorry working girls, but its true.  I have worked before and nothing beats waking up to snow and knowing you can shuffle down to the kitchen,  make coffee, and watch it fall outside while you have absolutely NOWHERE to be.  Thank you husband for gifting me these days.

Flash forward to this weekend. NO SNOW.  Absolutely zero white stuff since theses photos were taken!  True, and very sad, story.  We NEED precipitation!  Praying for that.  Saturday we stayed in, sadly Rem had a tummy bug.  Poor thing.  I sent Lo outside while husband cleaned up the leaves once more, in hopes and anticipation of some snow, and then Lo had a fall!  She was climbing on the swing.  We had a rough Saturday.  Thankfully we had nothing on our weekend agenda that had to be cancelled or missed, but TERRIBLE that R was a sad little wilted flower.  She couldn't keep anything down.  Luckily no fever and thankfully the sickness was isolated up top, if you know what I mean.

I was taking care of Remy inside, probably getting her Pedialyte or doing a load of laundry when I could hear husband calling for Arlo to "get down from there," and I knew it wasn't a great idea for her to be out there because she is very curious and active.  I was starting to get out there when I heard her crying and I rushed out to husband carrying her with blood gushing from her little nose.  I surprisingly remained calm.  She was getting increasingly irritated and upset from seeing the blood, and even more so that it was on her new Frozen jacket.  Poor thing!

She fell face first into the grass and her little eyelid got a cut and her cheek got some scratches.  It was a rough Saturday around these parts.  Sunday was MUCH better and they were like their old, Friday, selves again by mid day.

Highlights on Saturday night: when they were tucked in and deep asleep and husband was working and I watched The Crown Season two, episode after episode, diving into, and pigging out on, a huge ice cream sundae.

Hoping we get s fresh layer of new fallen snow soon...

Wearing: Remy and Arlo are both wearing snowsuits that are either handed down from their cousins, OR, found at the thrift store.  You can ALWAYS find snow suits at the thrift shops, guys!  I think they range from $4.99-$7.99 at the thrift, and most are in like-new condition.  Remy's hat is from CrewCuts, but this set from Cat & Jack at Target has gloves and only $9.99!   Arlo's hat is from Crazy 8, but this yellow and gray SET is super cute! Arlo's boots are Sorel, similar, and Remy's are thrifted. Another great place to look for snow boots- thrift shops.
