Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Last Thursday the Mr. an I headed downtown to Galvenize for the Westword 2013 Web Awards. It could have been the coldest night of the year, but the lure of free Tito's vodka drinks, by all American label straight from Austin Texas, and the chance to get a little one on one time in with my love and shake things up mid week brought these two snowflakes out.

We found street parking right across the street from the event! You always feel the night was meant to be when you find curbside, free parking, in front of the venue. We also happened to be parked in front of Denver Pizza company. We decided to get a couple slices before the event. You know the finger foods at events never do the job of filling you up. Low and behold they had two slices left for us! VERY good pizza! Perfect crisp on the crust, thin, cheesy goodness and great service with these guys! I'd go back!

Speaking of cheesy goodness, the event had a photo booth set up by Just Shutter Up. My favorite frame is the one where it looks like we are going to get run over by a car...

Highlights of the evening included my one Moscow Mule with Tito's vodka, in a plastic cup not a copper mug, and the donuts by Glazed and Confused donuts. They told us they were planning to open up shop along Leetsdale! Wohoo! I had the root beer float flavor and hubby had a "car bomb" which was half doughnut, half cinnamon bun. Finger licking good- literally.

Is it sad that I count the food and drink as the best parts? Oh, and spending time with my hottie husband and having laughs with him! Always good for the relationship to step outside of your routine every now and then and see each other in "date" mode.

The emcee for the evening was pretty funny too and reminded me a little of Zach Galifianakis. I was a little disappointed that there weren't any programs and nowhere could you even find or see the web awards categories, nominations or winners. Sort of the point of an event like that right?

It was a fun couple hours out without the baby and from what we did see of the awards portion of the evening, which the Westword readers voted on, the winners were appropriately deemed as such. Congrats to a handle and a place I follow on social media, the Denver Art Museum, who won for best non profit on social media!

You can look up tweets and grams on the evening using #denweb13.

Who do you follow on social media in Denver? Any recommendations? You can tell me in the comments, or tweet or gram me OR you can do something even better and come tell me in person at my Madewell holiday party #BundleandBliss, this Tuesday night at Park Meadows! 6-9 I'll be there! Come get a free gift with purchase!

Stay warm!
