Secret Santa Shopping at Belly Bliss
Raise of hands. Who remembers their elementary school days around Christmas? Did you guys ever do the Secret Santa Shop where the Elves help you pick something out for mom, dad, siblings, and everything was so special and you couldn't wait to have them open it on Christmas?! Remember?!
Well, last week I took two hours and cleaned out my e-mail boxes. I had almost 5K unread e-mails! I am a chronic newsletter subscriber...But I am so glad I read my newsletter from Belly Bliss, where I had done my pre-natal with both girls, because they hosted the most fabulous little Christmas party for littles and set up a Santa Shop! Both owners were there, and they were so kind and genuine! Both mommas and everyone who organized and planned this thing really did such a nice job!
As soon as we walked in, the place felt special, warm, and welcoming! Cookies and candy canes for the kiddos, and they didn't forget a little vino for mom and dad while they shopped! The Elves set up shop in the yoga studio. Lights were dim, little white Christmas lights were strewn about, and the entrance was even wrapped like a present, with a tiny cutout for them to enter, such a thoughtful touch! Remy waltzed right in, no encouragement needed, and the Elves got to work right away, picking out three special gifts- one for momma, one for Baba, and one for Arlo. They wrapped them up and Remy would come out after each one and give them to us so excitedly. She handed one to Arlo, "Here you go Arlo..." Arlo didn't wuite understand and walked away. Soon enough she will know!
Mine is a little heavy and awkward shaped, and I CAN'T WAIT to open it!!! It could be a can of olives and I would LOVE it more than a bottle of pricey perfume. She picked it out for me! It's a surprise! I think this is such a great tradition! Belly Bliss does too! They plan to make this an annual thing, so watch for that newsletter next December! There were several other crawlers and early walkers toddling around and they had plenty of toys to keep the children entertained. I LOVE a baby proofed party!
Oh, forgot to mention, they had SANTA come too! He had a nice little setup next door in Syrup which was beautifully decorated. Remy was chit-chatting away, but Arlo was a little squirmy. She wasn't scared, but I think she just wanted to play and explore. The photos were professionally taken and we will be e-mailed digital copies, all by donation, which went towards Project Angel Heart. The gifts Remy picked out for us came to a whopping $11...
We had such a wonderful evening! We took our fun across the street to Cherry Creek Mall to show Baba the new dinosaur play area by the Museum of Nature and Science and we had dinner out. By the time we got home, took a bath and did our stories, they were more than ready for bed.
What a fun time!
P.S. I was going potty the other morning and I could hear packages rustling. I could here Remy saying, "Here you go Arlo..." I came to the top of the stairs and looked into the front room and here was Arlo holding her present, looking confused, and Remy took Baba's present out and was gesturing for me to take it. They haven't opened anything YET! Luckily that one was just in a little gift bag. I tucked it back in and we put them back under the tree. Excitement is building!
For those of you from the event who might be reading this- sorry about the fuzzy images! My shutter speed was too slow for the low lighting...I think they turned out sort of neat anyway.
Remy is wearing a dress by Tea Collection, tights from Target and Hunter boots. Arlo is wearing a Zara sweater, skirt from Target, Gap tights and Freshly Picked Moccasins. My shirt is from Wrangler.
