Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Due Day Dilly Dally

Due Day Dilly Dally

Well, today is the big D-Day! Nothing earth shattering to share...except there has been contractions, cramping, low back pain, and severe irritability the last week or so.  She is definitely doing her growing and plumping up in there, and in doing so, I have had days where all I can do with Remy is lie on my side on the couch or floor and read and play with her.

I am more annoyed than uncomfortable at this point.  My body seems to "prepare" for labor just fine; I even had signs of early labor about three weeks to a month ago, but then they putz out and nothing evolves into anything dynamic.  It is frustrating.  With Remy, I never had the classic signs or symptoms of impending labor either.  Never had the "big drop," or the "bloody show," and never lost a mucous plug.  I actually induced myself the day after my due date with castor oil, which worked.  My body was definitely ready to go into labor, as I had signs of it weeks before, and she was definitely full term, and I had discussed it with my doctor before self administering.  I don't recommend it by any means, but it worked for us, and that little slick trick is in the back of our minds this time around too.

I took these little belly selfies last week, at 39 weeks with my Remy.  I wanted to capture us before the energy in the family changes.  She LOVES holding my tummy and smiling ear to ear as she says, "BABBBBY!"  She is going to be an incredible big sister and we are all getting anxious around here for her arrival!

Husband's paternity leave started yesterday and we took a family bio ride to Starbucks and then came home and deep cleaned the house, bathrooms, kitchen and all... still, no baby!

Any tips to try to pass time and patiently wait for labor?  I feel like I have done all the nesting there is to do.  Or, have any unusual and NATURAL labor inducing tactics?  With Remy we tried an asian foot massage the day before, bad Mexican food, a glass of wine...and yes, we have done that other thing that got us here in the first place too.  Any foods or secrets we should try?

Hopefully we'll have news soon!  Most likely on my Instagram account...
