Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Family at the Stanley

Family at the Stanley

Yesterday we finally got out!

It seems like since school started we have been slaves to a very strict schedule- hello LIFE. And since before Christmas we have been pretty pent up around these parts. We were ALL getting a little stir crazy. So a little “adventuring” was had in our backyard, at the Stanley Marketplace! (Thank you to a school friend’s mommy for putting the reminder in my noggin’!) We had not been to the Stanley in a very long while, so we put on our “adventure hats" and headed out!

We headed straight to Maria Empanada which I had wanted to try since before they had opened way back! It was the PERFECT late lunch for us! No line, plenty of flavors to choose from, and a table right there and we were all devouring the warm bread pockets in no time! We tried a few and they were ALL delicious!

We strolled around and popped into a couple little shops. I LOVE the Goose & the Goat! We found the girls Native water shoes on MAJOR sale for this coming spring/summer. We meandered back to Sweet Cow for some dips. Chocolate for the girls, pistachio for Baba and Heath for Mama….we actually sat outside, amongst the latest snow! You know you’re a native when you can eat ice cream, OUTSIDE< in forty-two degrees and HAVE FUN doing it! The girls kicked off their shoes, quite literally, and slushed around in their socks and found fun in finding ice hunks.

It was such a great afternoon trying out my new camera from Christmas! I was shooting mainly in AUTO, as I have yet to get my solo tutorial classes in. Already I can see BIG differences! Thank you to my husband for gifting me this tool to document and capture some of our family moments together, and for snapping a lot of these pics! I know about your New Years’ resolution and I am ignoring it!

Oh, of course it wouldn’t be a typical day out with these two if it didn’t end in them pestering each other, and us coercing them into car seats to head home.

Happy NEW YEAR everyone!
