A couple nights ago our neighbors, and friends, across the street invited us to go down to another neighbors' house to feed and tend to their chickens as they were out of town. Caring for chickens has been a test of responsibility and a learning opportunity for my neighbor and her sweet kiddos who are 3 and 5. We decided to tag along one evening just before sunset. Remy jumped in the pen right away! Arlo ventured in and quickly was startled and walking backwards to get out, crying with tears rolling down her cheeks. Arlo wanted so badly to be in the chicken coop with Remy and our neighbors, and attempted to go back in a couple more times, but again, never turning he rack tot he chickens, and slowly creeping away, crying, I'd come reduce her. Arlo eventually wandered off to the swing set.
Remy wasn't afraid one bit, and even pet them a little and also gave them some crushed oyster shells which apparently help with their calcium intake, or maybe protein.... I am no farmer! I am so happy they got to experience the chickens down at the corner house! They also watched our neighbor clean the pen and give them fresh water and also wrangle them up and put them to bed. It was pretty interesting to witness, but I don't think we will be getting chickens ourselves anytime soon....haha! Happy to visit friends with pets though! Speaking of pets, we are THINK Remy is ready for her first cinematic experience! Last night she was going potty and looking at mommy's People magazine when she stopped at an ad for The Secret Lives of Pets and she requested to see it! She was SO excited she had to go show Baba the ad after she finished up. We gave each other knowing glances like, okayyy... so we think we might get a sitter for Arlo and take her. We BOTH want to see her reaction of the big screen! She;s in for a treat!
Here are a few pictures of Remy in there!
Have a great weekend everyone!
