Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Baby's First Christmas Gift Picks & #SmallBusinessSaturday

This week, commercialism is most blatantly obvious with "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" trending net searches, but one hashtag has me excited, and is also one of the main purposes of starting this blog, #SmallBusinessSaturday. Small Business Saturday is on November 30th and was started by American Express; read about it more here. If you have already started your holiday gift lists this year, I hope you have at least one or two small business stops along the way. Supporting local businesses is how we foster the communities we live in and stay attractive to visitors. We can also help our neighbors and cultivate creativity. In trying economic times it may seem more cost effective to purchase from big box stores and malls, I shop them too, however if you step outside your comfort zone, and drive away from the chaos, you can find truly special gifts and have an amazing shopping experience filled with the Christmas spirit while you're at it.

This year will be my first Christmas with a baby! I am so very blessed and excited to share traditions with her and start new ones as well. I always had very fortunate Christmas mornings growing up, filled with full stockings and piles of beautiful gifts. Thanks momma and daddy! For Remy, I plan to scale it back just a tad and fight the urge to spoil her so much with the tangibles, but gift her the spirit, feelings and adventures of it all. She will only be seven months this first Christmas, so I have a couple of special toys prepared to gift her and I plan to keep it very low key and intimate. I wanted to share some special gifts I found around Denver from local boutiques for you all, in the event you have a baby to shop for on your list. Each boutique featured below is sure to be enticing and I wouldn't be surprised if you came in for one of these items listed below and found about a dozen others you would love to have for various people on your list; perhaps even yourself!

AND- each boutique has generously donated a very thoughtful gift to give away to you readers! You can enter to win ANY or ALL four of the gifts by visiting the boutiques on #SmallBusinessSaturday on November 30th and signing up in person! One winner per gift will be chosen at random the following week and contacted via e-mail. You may enter once per store, giving you up to four chances to win one of these gifts. One aspect of the Christmas season that I have always loved is the element of surprise, so the gifts will not be revealed on this blog but sure to wow the lucky recipient. I can tell you three of the four gifts are geared towards baby, but the item gifted from Wish boutique is centered around pampering momma. Either way, you can tick someone off your list for free. Most blog giveaways are done electronically but since this one is all about supporting Denver businesses, it is unfortunately limited to those who are local. The giveaways are not pictured below.

So get out, get entered, and shop our friends' shops on November 30th! Best of luck to you all!
