Never Stop Discovering with Origins
"Never stop discovering." This is a pretty darn good ethos for a brand to carry. Don't you think? I'm talking about Origins beauty. They have a new exploratory shop in The Promenade Shops at Briargate in Colorado Springs, and it sounds like IT is worth discovering.
The new Origins shop design emphasizes the exploration of natural ingredients with an experience shopper's can partake in as well. "Stories about the discovery, heritage and provenance scatter the shelves." I love when a brand's history melds with their mission today, and when a brand is transparent and willing to share what they can with us. The new shop decor highlights this discovery element with reclaimed wood, antique vessels and then takes us into the Botanist's Laboratory phase of the Origins product life. The natural plant specimens are taken to a modern day lab environment with white tile walls, metal shelving, glass jars and a floor-to-ceiling greenhouse wall.
Origins encourages you to try products with a large communal sink and plenty of free samples and skin consultations on the spot. You can decide to journey through the shop on your own or decide to have an Origins specialist assist you. I have been trying out the Origins Three-Part Harmony Serum Cream, and the Origins Clear Improvement charcoal mask and body wash. I haven't put on a face mask in YEARS! Last weekend when the husband was out of town, I decided to slather this one on and flip on my Christmas movies on Hallmark and have a wild night. It DID leave my skin feeling refreshed and smooth! The cream is awesome! Face cream before bed is ALWAYS a good idea, especially here in dry, DRY Colorado. I have always struggled with acne, and the last couple of years it has been popping up on my chinny chin chin. Sometimes they say if your skin is too dry, it produces more oil and therefore you can get a breakout, not sure, but maybe a consultation would help. The lotion did seem to ease it up somewhat, but I need to do more testing, as in long term and consistent to really know what is working.
If you are already a fan of Origins, you may want to pop in their new shop at Briargate. The Promenade Shops are hosting giveaways during the holidays for their Presents on the Promenade campaign. You can win gift cards just by taking a photo of yourself with your wish list gift item at any of the shops and uploading it to Instagram. Be sure to tag them, @shopsbriargate, and use #presentsonthepromenade, happening now through December 23rd, to enter. Maybe a "cell-fie" with your pretty fresh face next to your favorite Origins product????
In the spirit of Origins' philosophy of, "Never Stop Discovering," I let Remy use momma's camera at the park yesterday. Although the camera weighs quite a bit and is pretty bulky, she felt so special and empowered to be trusted to hold it and snap photos of me for once. She did look through the eyeglass on a couple shots, but a lot of them she was just aiming using her chest to hold the camera up. So, my dearest Remy, here are some of your earliest photographs of your old momma at our favorite neighborhood park on a regular day in December where we stalk the flocks of geese, swing in swings side by side with Arlo, pretend to cook "nay nay" (food), look for treasure and pinecones and just enjoy fresh air.
I think I'll borrow their M.O. for my journey into momma hood too...
Have you ever used Origins products? So good... Ask Santa for a little something for your stocking!
