Just a pair of girls picking pears!
Back in September when we were in Olathe, Colorado we had a chance to pick some beautiful green pears straight off the trees. No orchard. Just a few neighbors getting together and plucking nature's bounty on a sunny, September morning.
Some had already fallen off the tree and Remy and Arlo were so happy to find a few down low all on their own. We had a planter full of pears in no time! Dad is working on brewing up some spirits with the collection we gathered- can't wait to taste that! Pear mead....mmmm...We took a bag full of some big ones home with us. We waited a couple days for them to ripen up and when they did, they were VERY good.
So glad the girls had a chance to experience that, and make a few friends in the process. Remy and her love of dogs...sigh....not a pet person so she'll have to get her fix of furry friends out and about!
I'm a pear over apple girl, myself. Maybe I should learn how to make a pear tart. Photos of those on recipe magazines always entice me.
Remy is wearing an Old Navy dress, but this peasant style from Marmellata is so pretty! Arlo is wearing overall shorts from Gap Kids and a thrifted, vintage tee with a gardening print. This jumper dress from Joe Fresh with this floral tee from Mini Rodini would be an adorable alternative.
