Pumpkin Picking with Pa
On our last trip to Olathe, Colorado to visit my Dad, they suggested we take a visit to the pumpkin patch down the road. The first trip we visited my Dad after he moved here, it was actually the same time of year, early October, and Arlo was only a month old! Two years later, and the girls were all about shuffling through the rows to find the perfect pumpkin. This year, the patch also had a hay bale maze which was fun, and also exhausting! The day heated up pretty good by the time we made our way to the maze and our fall layers were needing a peel back. BUT, they had a GREAT slide they made by leaning an agriculture, water pipe against some stacks of hay bales and the girls slid down that thing into a pile of corn kernels over and over. I am pretty sure that was their favorite part of the day!
We did find two awesome pumpkins- the one you see my Dad carrying below with the incredible chunky stem, and towards the end we found a tall skinny one that Arlo was interested in! We left these with my Dad this time around and we actually found smaller pumpkins at our local Nick's Garden Center last week that have made a home on our front porch.
Here's a few photos from the pumpkin picking. Not many photos of Arlo, she was pretty content perched on a pumpkin eating her tiny box of Nerds candy that she got from the general store at the patch. Although, big sister gave her a good shove into the prickly pumpkin vines towards the end which got a reaction alright.
Remy's wearing a thrifted Little Marc Jacobs graphic knit sweater, (similar here) a C de C floral blouse, Old Navy denim skirt purchased this summer, but the darker wash version for fall is super cute too! Circo striped leggings, pink Hunter boots. Arlo's wearing: Thrifted, vintage denim vest, thrifted cream sweater from Cherokee brand, Old Navy sweater skirt, thrifted Converse sneakers.
