Last Saturday morning the hubster was off reefing soccer and I found myself running up and down the stairs between diaper changes and milk sessions and I decided the girls and I should take a little trip to get a doughnut and get some fresh air. Hubby had a head cold all last week, and unfortunately the girls and I caught it over the long weekend too. Luckily we have had some sunny days and I have been able to at least get the girls some fresh air these last couple of days, but man, mommas and babas sure do not get any sick days!
We decided to check out Glazed and Confused Doughnuts on Leetsdale in Denver. I had tried them a couple of years ago at an event, long before they had their storefront. We were quite impressed with the space- Remy could not stop eyeing the green ceiling!
I wasn't as impressed by their product this time around, and when the teller told me $13.50 for three doughnuts, I was in shock. I can get there for a $1 at Safeway and they are delicious and our family members own a Winchell's, so...I was a little hesitant when handing over my card.
I couldn't burst little Remy's bubble though, so we sat at the bar and indulged. She had a Banana Chocolate Chip, I had a Confused Somoa, (mine was so so, hers was pretty good), and we took a Strawberry Cheesecake Cronut home to Baba.
Overall verdict, awesome space, but you're paying for it with the price of those pastries, and they aren't anything to brag about, really. We probably won't be headed back anytime soon. I hate to give bad reviews, but I do always want to give honest thoughts and opinions. Again, the space is really cool- would be a great place to have an event!
After our mini sugar jolt, we headed to the playground for some "Wee" action... (swings)
Hope you all had a wonderful MLK holiday weekend!
