Denver's Union Station: Scooters & Scoops
Last Saturday we had Baba home! Since he is a soccer coach year round, this was a BIG deal! We had wanted to take the girls downtown for a scootering adventure while he was on spring break, but that week ended up being swallowed up by doctor visits and various things. So this last Saturday we put the scooters and helmets in the back of the car and took a trip downtown to scoot around Union Station. That is the perfect flat, open concrete pad to let them practice their soot in' on their new Micro Mini scooters! Remy has had one for a year now, but we just upped her to the next size and gifted Arlo her original scooter. Arlo was using another one and it was not doing the job, poor girl! Now, within a couple weeks of being on the Micro Mini, I see Arlo's skills have vastly improved, her maneuvering still needs practice, but her speed and confidence are right up there with her big sister's! We had fun racing them and soaking in some warm spring sun, and people watching some Colorado Rockies fans gearing up for a game later that day. We got mini ice cream cones at Milk Box Ice Creamery too. Space Junkie is my fave. We bumped into one of their little friends and they played and ran around for a long time and shared ice cream together.
We headed out of downtown and grabbed Chicken Shwarma for lunch from Shish Kabob Grill and ate it at City Park. Sadly, we did not truly enjoy the lunch, by this time it was nearly 2 pm and we had overspent our luck with two toddlers, but wanting very much to go back for delicious Arabic food with my babe, perhaps for a date.
I WISH we had Baba home on more Saturdays, but hoping to take advantage of them when we have them.
P.S. LOOK at that red bug down there! That's Matthew serving up Micro brew coffee out of this thing! We happened to park behind him and Remy scooted right up to him at the window and asked, "How are you makin' your coffee?" Matthew went on to show her the mason jars of bean selecting, Huckleberry Roasters, and his gear for brewing up a cup! I was already caffeinated otherwise I would have liked to try it!
Remy is wearing a KukuKid sweatshirt, Nautica jeans, and Supra sneakers. Arlo is wearing Gardner & the Gang sweatpants (similar), striped baseball tee from Target (similar), and See Kai Run sneakers, which we LOVE the fit on, from Goose & the Goat in Stanley Marketplace in Aurora, but similar here. I am wearing jeans and tee from Anthropologie. I LOVE this flutter sleeve tee from there too! Scooters are Mini Micro. Husband's jeans are Levi's 541 fit which is an awesome straight leg style for guys with big soccer legs like my guy- he LOVES them!
