Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Snow Bunnies

Snow Bunnies

Posting snow pics in Colorado is funny because by the time you take them, download them, edit them and get around to posting them, the snow has melted and it's a seventy degree day!  Well not this time!  Well, sort of.  These snow pics are from a dusting we had a week or so ago, but tonight snow is falling so that makes them relevant again, right?

As a native Coloradan, I have to admit something right here right now to you all, I have never been on a pair of skis in my life!  i know, I know.  Meh. Shoulder shrug.  Not interested.  Gulp.  I have however snowboarded, I was a skateboarder girl as a teen, now that is fun and I would like to try again, if I can drum up enough courage.  The older the get the less risky I am with my bones.  Anyone else?  I mean, is it really worth it?  I have taken a few BAD falls on a board flying down a mountain and it this stage in my life it just doesn't seem all that fun.

This past ski season I have seen so many cuties, barely walking, and flying down bunny hills on a pair of skis and their proud mamas and papas posting how they are already better than they are.  We are not those folk.  If there's any interest from the girls in the future, we may have to make our way up the dreaded I-70 route to the hills, but for now, I am very happy throwing on their snowsuits over their leggings and tees and letting them explore the yard and then after they get cold, a whole 7 minutes and 33 seconds later, we can happily waltz right back into our house and peel off the wet stuff and get cozy.

Snow in March in Colorado is nothing new, I have photos as a kid searching for Easter eggs with snow in the yard.  Wait a sec, now I think of it, I have photos of MY own girls searching for eggs in the snow!  The year before last!  With Easter just a few short days away, the fashion girl in me is hoping this patch of snow melts so the girls can wear their "nice" shoes and not the snow boots.

I LOVE revisiting past posts, especially the holidays.  Here is Arlo's FIRST Easter and Rem still in diapies! Here are photos from the next Easter in their vintage dresses!  They are so much harder to come by as they get into size 4 and 5t... and some more photos from an Easter egg hunt we did at a senior citizen home that same year.  Oh, and here's LAST year in the back yard! That HUGE, old, dead tree finally fell down, thankfully NOT when we were around, and onto that, dead old fence, which we replaced.  I cherish photos and memories so much, something my momma gave me, I think.  She was always so great about documenting things.  Very EGG_cited for this Sunday!

This week is spring break for us and we have zilch on the schedule!  NO swimming lessons, no school, no soccer, nothin'!  Quite nice really.  Today the girls and I had a lazy morning, giggling in my bed and I listened to Remy reading one of my books out loud to me, then we did Dunkin' Donuts, the car wash, that's probably what brought the snow, and a little nail polish at the nail salon.  A slow, sweet start to spring break!

Wearing: Remy is wearing a thrifted Hanna Andersson snow suit and Arlo is wearing a Children's Place snow suit and a thrifted turtle neck.  Both are wearing Puma snow boots. Interested in the next level of snow suits with hoods and sleeves like this pretty one by Burton!
