Style: Drizzly Friday
Last Friday, Arlo and I met up with Julie and Isla! (They were the stars of my last Play, Meet post). Hubby is home for the summer and watched Remy and I had my hands a little less full and was able to have a day to myself (and Arlo)! We met Julie for brunch at Devil's Food on South Gaylord. It was a very humid morning and just started to drizzle right when I parked. Good thing I grabbed my J. Crew khaki trench before I left the house! I wore this patterned dress, sort of tribal-y, I recently picked up from Target. I was on the hunt for a dress or top that had buttons, breast feeding friendly. I was drawn to the pattern on this one, but it also comes in a pinky gray floral and a blue floral pattern as well. The off shoulder sleeve/strap situation is a little, well super, trendy, mass fashion, but I liked it anyway. It was soft and lightweight too!
After brunch we headed over to Nest boutique to pick up our photos from an event they hosted at Vert Beauty before Mother's Day. I picked up a fresh new pair of Native shoes for Miss Remy too. Afterwards, I checked in with husband and Remy was perfectly well and napping and I got the green light to take my time, so we did! Arlo was fed and happy, HAPPY so I started to stroll over to Novo coffee on 6th and Gilpin, a further walk than I thought, and I ran into this blue wall. I had my camera and tripod in the car so I raced back and we did a little detour. After our little photo op, we strolled along 6th leisurely, Arlo fell asleep on the way. I got a coffee and headed back before the rain. It was a perfect day!
I could have worn this with sandals but the projected rain on my Yahoo weather app convinced me to do a closed shoe option with these by Madewell that I got on sale a couple years ago. I threw on a trusty hat, a gold Aries bangle by CatBird, earrings and a ring. Arlo wore a printed jumper I picked up at Childish Things Consignment for Remy last year. No brand or tag on it.
Also, how about an Arlo update! She is already 9 months old on June 10th! Can't believe this little chubby cherub is going to be one in just three short, summer months! TEARS! This has to be my favorite age with her so far! Funny how your favorite stage can vary between babies. I LOVE them all, but 8 months until now has been really fun with Arlo!
Just yesterday she showed hubby and I that she discovered her tongue! She wakes up before Remy and hangs out in our room and plays and sometimes we play with her in bed and she started rolling her tongue side to side between her lips. Then the way she looks at us like she is waiting for a huge applause and reaction, which of course we give to her! Around 8 months she learned to clap, so she loves to do that lately too! And just last night, I know a BIG day for her, she was up later because she had to go potty, so we took her down to play a little and we were watching her. She sat there and grabbed a ball and put it behind her head and tried and tried to grab it with her other hand while holding it able and behind her head. SMART! She tried a couple of times in a seated position but failed. She didn't give up the little stubborn thing! She finally did it laying on her tummy! YEAH! Clap! Clap! Clap! She is really showing a ton of personality and all smiles, even very patient. BUT, we notice her starting to hold he down with Remy. The other day there was a toy that Remy took from her and she held on to it so hard, it was like a real tug-of-war competition and she won it in the end.
My little "Lobie," you are the sweetest, silliest, chunkiest little square-bottom babe and I LOVE you so much!
Here's to more bonding with each girl more this summer while I have an extra set of hands!
