Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Style: Pies, Playgrounds & Purple

Style: Pies, Playgrounds & Purple

A few weeks ago a really cute clothing line, Pink Blush Maternity, contacted me to do a style post. Was this a buried e-mail from 2012 I wondered?

Nope.

I was flattered and thrilled!  Their MO is stylish clothing, maternity and beyond, and super affordable.  They have maternity fashion nailed, but they also have women's clothing and it's just as cute!

Having been through pregnancy twice, I thoroughly enjoyed pregnancy from beginning to end and all my  bump stages, and postpartum body metamorphosis, twice, not the most fun part of having a baby, I can attest to the power of a good dress.  Did I mention that bit about breastfeeding each babe for a year and how I literally wore 1% of my closet for both years?

Where was Pink Blush Maternity about four years ago?!  Well, we know them now!  Their pieces are on trend, and designed to be worn during pregnancy and after, AND, breastfeeding friendly!  Woo!  Woo!  I was timid at first about the concept of styling Pink Blush at this phase of my life, momma, as I had never had I been the gal to purchase many true maternity articles of clothing when I was expecting.  What would I style now?  Would it make me LOOK preggo?

Well, you be the judge!  I knew I wanted a new spring dress, I just wasn't sure which one!  Their "cute dress" category is overflowing with options.  From short and flared, boho, halter, sleek, sophisticated, summer maxis...you WILL find at least one!  I debated this guy.  The pattern.  The color.  This is the FIRST predominately purple piece in my closet I think.  And the fact that it was a maxi.  I usually reserve maxis for summer, and mine are mostly all tank sleeves.  Until now!

I wore this yesterday to go downtown with the girls for pie and we explored a new playground afterwards.  I was INCREDIBLY comfy chasing them around all afternoon and I even went down the twisty slide with Remy in it.  I NEVER do the slide, but I felt so playful I thought, what the heck?!  It has a criss/cross chest, but NOT low at all, no tank underneath even needed, and that's great because I COULD wear this again, if I WERE to get pregnant again.  I AM NOT EXPECTING.  And I COULD also very easily breastfeed in it too!  Awesome!  Best part?  It felt more Diane von Furstenberg, and nothing at all like Pea in the Pod.

It was super windy out, but the length and weight of the fabric were truly spring-perfect.  No risk of a peek-a-boo show for the construction workers who were camped out in their truck watching me prance back and forth from my tripod to posing.  And the 3/4 sleeves were pretty great too!  Who knew?!  I NEVER were 3/4 sleeves, but I must have liked the feel because later that night I wore a long sleeve top to pilates and I caught myself pushing the sleeves up!

Now the fun part, YOU!  Pink Blush is generously offering up a $50 gift card to one lucky reader!  To enter, head over to Instagram and follow my account, @haleebandhoney.  Find the photo with this here dandy dress, give it a like, and tag two friends!  Giveaway entries close next Tuesday, March 8th at midnight and winner will be selected at random and contacted directly on Instagram via Direct Message on the morning of March 9th.
