I LOVE swimsuit shopping! No, no, not for me... for THEM! Are you kidding me?! Baby thighs and itty bitty belly buttons plus beads of water and deep guttural giggles! Yes!!! The last weekend of May we went all out with two more birthday parties on Sunday.
We went to Centennial Center Park for a little friend's 2nd Birthday. This kiddo is special because his mommy and daddy were in the same birthing prep class as hubby and I when we were expecting Remy! May is a HUGE, BUSY month for us with three other nieces birthdays, Mother's Day, graduations, baby showers, bridal showers and several other birthdays of little friends like, Landon, Happy TWO, and Leif (boy in photographs), Happy TWO!!!
This park is off of Arapahoe Road, and is really diverse. There is a lot going on at this playground. I have had a playdate here before but I do feel it is quite large and some of the equipment, large leaf shaped swings, a rock climbing wall, are geared towards slightly older kiddos. There is a sand pit and a mini toddler section, but as you may know from rearing or caring for toddlers, they tend to veer off course and want to explore what the big kids are up to.
Now that the water is officially turned on for the season over on the splash pad area, expect crowds! Surprisingly, this past Sunday was not too crazy because it happened to be one of the first nice days out here this season. They have a faux grassy and shaded area, just bring your towels or blankets! There are also several covered patio and picnic bench seating areas for rental for parties. The party we went to had rented out this neat cave-like area that was covered. Nice and cool and shady!
We had a blast at Landon's party, Ninja themed, so awesome, and his momma and daddy went all out on the barbecue and food spread. Tons of orange slices, watermelon triangles, corn on the cob, salad, fresh fruit, kabobs, dogs and more! His auntie made a pretty tasty cake too! We had the best little goodie bags to take home from our adventure; ninja water bottles and blow up swords and kiddie style chop sticks- such a thoughtful and unique parting gift! Thank you!
Now, the little boy pictured below, Leif, and Remy have a special bond. Just look at them! You may recognize this little cutie from the Carnival Cuties post here. Yup! They get mistaken for twins all the time when they are together, believe it or not, even though Remy is slightly taller. Apparently at this party when they were in the sandbox, a woman came up to Leif's momma and said, "Those are the cutest twins I have ever seen!" We'll take the complements! They are pretty adorable...
Here's a few pics from our time splashing around...and yes, I have a weakness for baby swim attire. Good thing we don't live near a beach! Baba would be broke!
