These Four Walls
When I was in college, they were offering a Typography class. I wanted to take this course so much! I couldn't enroll in the course at the time because I was not an Art major and there were some pre-recs. I am STILL sad about that. I have a thing for fonts and typography. I am NOT an artist by any sense of the word, but then I guess it depends on your definition of art, and the eye of the beholder, yadda, yadda, but I do love to attempt fancy scribbling from time to time in decor projects around these four walls.
When I spruced up our office a year or so ago, now Arlo's room, I had attempted creating all these fancy framed quotes I had seen popping up on all the walls of my favorite bloggers' nurseries. I decided to scroll out something myself, black marker on basic sketch pad paper, and framed the thing myself; "You are my favorite." It was so so, but not centered, not bold enough in certain strokes, not tilted or squinched enough in parts and just not quite right. 'Ya know? I did end up framing it anyway, because, well, "If you are searching for perfection, you'll never be satisfied," but now I have switched things up again and recycled the frame by placing a photograph in front of it.
My other dabbles with doodling include murals on our chalkboard wall in our living room. Currently we have, "Happy Day Arlo" in preparation for her big, ONE year birthday party this Sunday! The chalkboard wall has been a FUN and easy way to tie in our party themes with a subtle decorative element. So the other day, the chalkboard wall got a good Pepsi bath, cola products clean chalkboard walls, who knew, and became a big, black, blank slate again. Armed with a fresh piece of chalk, I let my had squiggle away. I love how words, phrases, and quotes can become art all on their own. Apparently Minted thinks so too! You knew they were your go-to for your holiday cards, start planning now guys, but did you know they also have incredible art prints?! Like, the whole entire slew of sweet somethings in the Minted's Typography Art category? No? Well, I was a little aloof too, but now I have a dozen on my whishlist.
Adding a framed print is an incredibly AFFORDABLE and fun way to frequently change up a space. With Remy now entering full on toddlerhood, and Arlo shortly behind, I am already feeling the urge to update their nurseries. One way I plan to do this is by switching up some art on the walls. A couple of these would do nicely...
Here are my favorite Typography art prints they have! Which art prints are you into?
You can find all of these prints, + MORE, available for purchase on the Minted site. This post was in partnership with Minted. All of the opinions and words are my own and unpaid for. Thanks for allowing me to share the brands I love.
