Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Thrift & Tea

Thrift & Tea

Today is Sunday.  Today is "game day."  Today at 2:30 when everyone was off the roads and tucked away somewhere watching the Denver Broncos play, my girl and I had a date.  When hubby goes off to a friend's house to watch football, I love to have alone time and have found that Bronco game days around Denver also happen to be the best days to do errands or shop!  Nobody is out! We got dressed up to do nothing special.  Actually, this is the same exact outfit I wore yesterday to a first birthday party- I was a fashion repeat offender.  We went down the street to the Arc thrift store and popped some tags!  I try to go in thrifting with a little mental list of what I am looking for so I don't get too distracted and it's getting harder to thrift with Remy at this age because she wants out of the stroller and she also wants to put all the good finds in her mouth- YUCK!- so trying to be quick is key.  Quick and thrift don't really belong in the same sentence...  So I may need to go thrifting solo soon, like on Saturday mornings when hubby can watch her.

Today we found nothing on my list, (basket, globe, cake stand) but we DID find SEVEN board books and TWO picture books for Miss Remy!  All were in mint condition, meaning no little scribbles on pages, no torn or missing pages, no sweet memos in the front covers, and all the pop up or pull tabs were in tact or never been opened!  Score!  Children's books can be pricey, but if you add them to your mental list when thrifting, you'd be surprised at what you can find!  A quick wipe down is all they need!

We were only really good for about 30 minutes so we stopped by a local coffee shop, Beantree Coffee in Aurora, on the way home to take a couple pics.  The wind outside was INSANE!  My wimpy tripod would have been blown to bits out there!  I ordered a rice tea, mmm, Remy got nursed in the bathroom halfway through (you do what you gotta do because as you can see this is not a nursing-friendly dress), and we headed home.  Nursed her again when we came home and she zonked out.  She has slept practically the entire day!  Last week she had a fever for three fussy...means growing and a bottom tooth that needs to make it's debut already!  All the naps mean mommy gets to blog though...

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
