Glad you found us!

I don't ski, I don't drink craft beer and I don't have a dog, but by golly I am a real Colorado native girl.  So now you can still believe in unicorns!  Here's my ode to motherhood, you know because all of us bloggers write like we were the first, only and last mama out there.

Tiny Town Colorado

Tiny Town Colorado

Last weekend we had hubby home for a change!  He took full advantage of his weekend off from soccer matches by spoiling us and suggested a trip to Tiny Town! I had mentioned going to Tiny Town a few days earlier, but hearing him actually wake up on a Saturday morning and SUGGEST that we all take a drive?!  Well...I was giddy to say the least.  He works SO hard that on days off, who would blame the guy if he really wanted to watch European soccer matches all day...Okay so sometimes, a lot of times, I complain at that, so, Baba, thank you!

Tiny Town, like Heritage Square, is one of those nostalgic places for me growing up here in Colorado!  We used to own property in FairPlay, Colorado where we camped quite a bit and I remember passing by Tiny Town, and even visiting, vaguely... Of course back then, my fuzzy memories made it seem MUCH different, so revisiting this place again with my own little girls to create memories with, and Baba who had also never been, was special...

This particular day we went Santa and his family members were having a picnic day!  So it was fun running into Santa and his look alines on their summer vacation at the park.  We got face paintings after twisty ice cream cones!  Arlo picked out a mushroom and Remy a bee.  Arlo was ADORABLE sitting SO still, and stiff as her little red mushroom was painted on!  We hired a face painter for her second birthday!

We took the little train ride around the park and saw all the tiny displays!  Highlights for me were the dinosaurs and up on the hill they had a miniature mine like they have in Idaho Springs.

Baba pulled out all the stops with ice cream after hot dogs, face painting, the train rides, and we even romped around on the playground at the end of the park where the girls might have been just as happy as having all that.  It was THE prefect day, and those big, tall trees surrounding us, and fresh mountain air, sort of made me wish we could go camping soon... wink, wink, nudge, nudge...

I would love to take the girls again in the fall!  Thanks for the BIG fun at Tiny Town Baba!
