World Cup Watching
Last Sunday we headed downtown to Skyline Park at 16th and Arapahoe to watch the opening game for U.S. in the 2014 World Cup. Western Union and the Colorado Rapids hosted a really great, FREE, community event all along Skyline Park to bring everyone together to watch the BIG game. They had huge screens set up and they had a great VIP section for family and partners of Western Union and the Rapids. Hubby's brother works at WU and got us a sweet seat where we had our own TV, right next to Remy's favorite water fountain, and delicious, Brazilian inspired food like rice, black beans, salad, bacon wrapped chicken (so tender) and steak. YUM! At one point, we tried to sit in the awesome yellow patio chairs with a birds eye view of the park, but Remy wasn't keen on it (nap time). We also had a run-in with the mascot of the Colorado Rapids MLS team. We weren't sure if Remy was excited or a little timid around that big beak of his!
The event really brought all types out to unite and cheer for our home team, and you know what, it worked! We won our first game! It was a great family event and Remy wasn't the only baby in the audience, or even the youngest. It was great to see young families, professionals getting off work, all types really, getting together in unity! Go U.S.A.!!!
We're enjoying the World Cup 2014 games around our house so far. Remy woke up today and the first thing she said when she got downstairs was, "ball." There's no doub she is her father's daughter. Sending good vibes to U.S. for their game tomorrow against Portugal!!!
Have you seen any games? Who is your team?
Thanks for popping in!
